Ireland continues to have one of the lowest annual inflation rates in the EU.

New figures from Eurostat show that prices on most household items here only rose by 0.5 per cent during the past 12 months.

This means Ireland had the sixth lowest inflation increase out of 28 Member States.

Grace Bolton of the EU Commission office in Dublin says that inflation rates vary across the EU Member States.
