Ireland is the worst country in
Europe for use of renewable energy.
Only six per cent of energy used in households, factories, hospitals and
schools in Ireland for heating and cooling comes from renewable sources.
The European Union is aiming to make the EU the world’s first climate-neutral
continent by 2050.
Tim Hayes of the EU Commission says the figures for Ireland are very
disappointing.
