Ireland appears to be heading towards a pensions timebomb.

Figures from Eurostat show that 18 per cent of Irish pensioners are likely to live in poverty compared to 15 per cent of EU citizens.

Tim Hayes from the European Commission representation in Ireland says the gap in pension values between Irish men and women is worrying.
