Irish consumers who purchase faulty items online from a UK-based supplier have legal protections if the company has a registered office in the European Union.

The protections include areas such as contract information, taxes, charges, shipping, delivery, guarantees and returns.

Cyril Sullivan of ECC Ireland says consumers who purchase such goods in the UK can check their status by contacting his office.
