More Irish people switch off 'mobile roaming' on their phone when travelling elsewhere in the EU than any other nationality.

A new survey from Eurobarometer shows that 52 per cent of Irish travellers switch off 'mobile roaming' compared to the EU average of just 34%.

The rules which ensure that Irish people travelling in the EU can enjoy roaming without extra charges are now being extended until 2031.

Tim Hayes of the European Commission says this is good news for Irish people who travel within the EU.
