There's bad news today for criminals.

Ireland has joined the EU Schengen Information System which will see information on crime exchanged with other member States.

The system helps make Europe more secure by allowing police and border guards to log and share information on people and property related to criminal activity.

Tim Hayes of the European Commission says the development will make it difficult for suspected criminals to move around Europe.
