Irish people are among the lowest users of the EU Online Dispute Resolution Service.

The web portal allows consumers to make official complaints where a dispute arises from purchasing goods online elsewhere in the EU.

Ireland ranks fourth from bottom out of 27 member States for usage of the process.

Cyril Sullivan of the European Consumer Centre in Dublin says the service is free and easy to use, but people here don't seem to know about it.
