Ireland has one of the highest proportions of older people in Europe who use the internet.

Figures from Eurostat show that nearly 80% of 65 – 74 year olds here in Ireland went online in 2020 compared to just over 60% in Europe overall.

Denmark tops the list of grey web-surfers with over 90% on their PCs and tablets last year.

Tim Hayes of the European Commission says Irish pensioners are way ahead of most EU States when it comes to internet activity.
